Children are very flexible at a young age, so yoga is an exercise they’re more than capable of doing. It’s a fun sport that can maintain health, strengthen muscles, and help in burning calories. The best is, once you get a hang of it, chances are that you would start enjoying skating with your kids. However, if you are willing to try your luck at skating, dress suitably. Wear track pants, baggy shirts, skate helmet adults, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards. Start slow on the board and do not rush yourself to the complex tricks and moves, so that you reduce your chances of falling.
If your kids like swimming in the backyard pool, then you can bring out your swimwear from the closet and get ready for a splash. Swimming acts as a cardio exercise, meaning that it can be great for your heart and your blood pressure. If it is summer in your place, then this activity can bring you and your kids some respite from the heat.
If you’re into strength training exercises to build your quads and abs, including your child in circuit workouts is completely doable. Sit-ups, push-ups, squats – let your kid do these exercises at their own pace and fitness level so they don’t feel discouraged.
However, let’s say your child isn’t interested in doing a circuit workout with you. These exercises alone aren’t very engaging for kids anyways. There’s another fun way to include your child during a circuit workout.
Get them to hop on your back while you do a push-up, squat, plank – you name it. Their extra weight will make your workouts more challenging while entertaining them as well.
